When Tom Potter passed away on December 28, Puyallup lost one of its’ most trusted voices. Tom was well-liked by everyone who knew him, passionite about what he believed in, and a true source of wisdom to draw from.
One of our fondest memories of Tom was when we were out walking this past summer. We went by Tom’s house and he and his wife were outside working in the yard. We stopped and talked for awhile. Tom had great ideas for what to include here on PuyallupNow and how he was hopefull that Steve Vermillion would win the at-large seat. We talked about yard stuff, Tom always has a very-well manicured lawn and he showed us his backyard. After about 20 minutes, we contiuned on our walk but left with a little more knowledge and a lot bigger smile. Little did we know that would be one of the final times we would see Tom.
There is a memorial service for Tom this Friday, January 13 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Community Church in Sumner.
